Thank you for sharing your earthquake story. What an upside down day it was. Grandad and I were thinking of you all, wondering where you were and if you were safe. We were so happy when we found out you were all safely together. Did you know that Grandad was very brave. He had to walk and run all the way home from the central city as the roads were broken, that is about 10 kilometers. There was water and mud up to his knees but he made it home tired but safe. We both had huge smiles on our faces when we saw each other.
Mummy and Daddy have worked hard to make your house safe and clean. What a great job they have done. Soon you will have glass back in those windows and the sunlight will be like a big smile shining in on you. With my love Nan
that is so sad to hear from such a small age. I hope that you and your family are okay and that all of Christchurch is okay too. My school and i have been learning about resilience (ask your mum about that word) and you must have shown a lot of resilience to get through this expereince. So one more thing i would like to say is that all of NZ is with you and Christchurch so thanks for sharing this hard expereince with me and i hope you get better.

What an enormous day for you and to have remembered so much of it. I have read every word! I like your descriptions and it reminded me of the Going on a Bear Hunt story. One thing happened after an other. And it was very scary.
Now that you are through the hard part I hope you and your lovely family are getting plenty of good sleep. How very special to have your own toy rabbit, with a bow and carrot. Have you given him a name yet?
Best wishes from Deborah,

You have been so good, helping Mummy pick up Rosa from school. Rosa would have been very happy to see you.
Good Mummy to get some biscuits for the hungry children!
Your house sounds like a bit of a mess, but I expect now that the engineer has said it is okay to live in then it won’t be long before things feel a bit better.
Was it a bit fun to stay at Aunty Jack’s?
And what a great present to get, a toy rabbit, perfect for cuddling at night.
Hope you sleep well now Grace, love to all!
